ARA-290 research peptide

ARA-290 is a synthetic peptide derived from a small section of erythropoietin (EPO), a naturally occurring protein that has been extensively studied in biology. Specifically, ARA-290 is based on the helix B region of EPO and was developed as a research compound for investigating cellular signaling pathways associated with EPO-derived peptides.

Unlike the full EPO molecule, ARA-290 is a much smaller peptide. Researchers study it to better understand how specific portions of EPO may interact with cellular receptors and influence downstream signaling. One key area of investigation is the innate repair receptor (IRR), a receptor complex examined in research related to cellular stress, inflammatory signaling, and tissue-response pathways.

Areas of laboratory interest

  • Cellular signaling pathways
  • Peripheral nerve-related processes
  • Inflammatory responses
  • Mitochondrial activity
  • Cellular stress mechanisms

These studies help researchers investigate how peptide structure and receptor interactions relate to different biological signaling processes. ARA-290 is of particular interest because it allows experimental models to examine EPO-derived signaling independently from the complete EPO protein, focusing on specific molecular interactions and pathways under controlled conditions.

Storage conditions

Long-term storage: For optimal stability, store lyophilized peptides in a freezer at approximately −20°C (−4°F) and protect from direct light.

Refrigerated storage: Short-term storage at 2 to 8°C (36 to 46°F) may be appropriate depending on the specific product. Always refer to the product label or lot-specific documentation for storage requirements.

Handling and shelf life

When stored properly in their original lyophilized powder form, peptides may remain suitable for research use for approximately 18 to 24 months.

After reconstitution, peptides should be stored under refrigeration at 2 to 8°C (36 to 46°F) and used within approximately 30 to 45 days, unless otherwise specified in the product documentation.

Avoid prolonged exposure to room temperature, direct light, and unnecessary temperature fluctuations to help maintain product stability.

Amino Connection takes care in preparing research products for shipment and uses appropriate cold-packaging methods when applicable to help protect products during transit.
